Free camper power calculator

Know what your camper can actually power.

Before buying another battery or a bigger panel, put your real loads into the calculator. It shows usable energy, daily use and a cautious autonomy range, and it lists what the estimate cannot know.

Starlink and two laptops

Remote work is the load most plans underestimate. See what a dish, two chargers and an inverter cost you per day.

Run this scenario

Weekend off-grid

Fridge, lights and a pump on a 100 Ah battery with a small panel. Find out whether you come home with charge left.

Run this scenario

Winter week

One peak sun hour and a heater fan. The scenario where batteries that looked big enough in July run out.

Run this scenario

Before a lithium upgrade

Same loads on a 200 Ah AGM bank planned at 50% usable. Compare it with LiFePO4 before you spend.

Guides

One question each, with the numbers.

  1. Battery drains overnightAn overnight drain usually comes from one of three things: the loads use more than you think, something keeps drawing power when everything looks off, or the battery holds less than its label says.
  2. Starlink and laptop autonomyWith two laptops, a fridge and lights, Starlink Standard through an inverter brings the day to about 1,999 Wh.
  3. LiFePO4 upgrade reality checkA 100 Ah LiFePO4 battery planned at 80% usable gives about 960 Wh against about 600 Wh from a 100 Ah AGM planned at 50%.
  4. Used camper electrical questionsAsk for the battery type and age, a list of every charging source with model numbers, who installed any additions, and any electrical inspection or habitation check paperwork.

How the estimate works

Known facts stay separate from assumptions.

The calculator uses plain arithmetic you can check. Defaults are starting points from published typical values. A label rating or a measurement from your own system always beats them.

  1. Usable energyVoltage × rated Ah × the share you plan to use. 80% for LiFePO4 and 50% for lead-acid are only starting points.
  2. Daily useWatts × hours for each load. 230 V loads add inverter conversion loss and idle draw while it is switched on.
  3. Charging and rangeSolar and alternator input per day, then a nominal and a cautious autonomy figure with 20% more use and 30% less charging.

What comes after the calculator

Tools first. Paid products when they are ready.

  1. Available

    Camper Power Reality Calculator

    Free

Usable energy, daily use, charging and an autonomy range, with every assumption editable and a shareable result link.

  2. Available

    Guides with worked numbers

    Free

Overnight drains, Starlink and laptops, lithium upgrades and used camper electrics, each with sources and a calculator scenario.

  3. Built, not on sale yet

    Camper Power Planning Kit

    Planned €29

Workbook and templates that turn your camper into a documented system: load sheet, component inventory, charging compatibility checklist, symptom log and installer questions.

  4. In preparation

    Personalised Power Reality Report

    Planned €59 to €79

Send your calculator result, photos and component models. A person reviews them and returns a digital report with a component map, missing evidence and prioritised next checks.

Nothing is on sale and we are not accepting paid requests yet. Planned prices may change before launch. You can leave your email on a product page to hear once when it is available, and exact delivery and refund terms will be published before anything is sold.

Scope and safety

An estimate, not an inspection.

Everything here works from figures and photos you supply. That is useful for planning and for asking an installer better questions. A remote estimate cannot certify an installation as safe.

What these tools do not do

  • No wiring diagrams, fuse or cable sizing for your build.
  • No electrical safety certificate or inspection.
  • No gas, structural or 230 V mains work.
  • No installation or onsite visits.
